Responsive Website Design: 1 of 4

In Visual Design class this term, students studied approaches to “Responsive Design” – websites that respond to the device on which they are viewed.
Design from this perspective concerns not only scaling imagery or type, but also considering how users interactive with different devices (touch screen versus mouse or keyboard, distance from screen, the type of information that may be important to users in different locations, etc). Designers may opt to hide, show, scale or reorder content based on the device (phone, laptop or notepad) and screen resolution.
The corresponding assignment challenged students to design a Responsive Website for an event. There were several terrific designs, only a few of which will be posted here. This is the first of 4.
The following is current Interactive Design student, Brian Lui’s three (mobile, ipad and laptop) possible designs for a dance event.
