George Martin on Beck
Came across an an old recording of Blow By Blow featuring Jeff Beck from the 70s. It was one of my all-time favorites way back when and I hadn’t heard it in a long time. It’s as good now as it was then. I’m not a follower of guitar gods but Beck deserves mention for the expressiveness of his tones but that was only one aspect. The rhythm section is great and the overall texture and flow of the tunes are something else. Checked the CD credits and realized George Martin produced and orchestrated; I think that might have some bearing… Worth a listen if you have not heard before.
