I have had the pleasure of working with the CSU over the past several months as a student representative to Senate and as a member of their Board of Directors, and I’m looking forward to giving back by leading a branding and website redevelopment project with them over the next several months.

Mail Strike Adds Customers to VersaPay B2B Payment System

Recent Interactive Design Grads Greg Bell and Matt Vague (on left) check the mobile payment options of the VersaPay B2B system

Canada’s 24 billion annual digital payments by consumers are conducted through a patchwork system of online, key fobs, automatic billing and, now, cellphones. Vancouver’s VersaPay is active in the consumer market but has also developed a cloud-based payment system for B2B transactions — an $859 billion Canadian market – that is still largely conducted through the exchange of paper invoices and cheques. The recent mail strike brought a 400% jump in business customers, based on strong viral growth of suppliers experiencing the benefits of VersaPay customers secure and efficient digital payment system, and a reduction in their accounts receivables. Two of our Interactive Design graduates – Greg Bell (Senior Software Engineer) and Matt Vague (User Experience & Software Engineer) - are key employees at VersaPay office in Vancouver. Celebrating Maverickism with MIT

Focused on addressing a growing deficit of ambition, MIT‘s system of learning is based on research and hands-on experimentation, championing meritocracy and industry. Their motto ”Mens et Manus” translates to “mind and hand”, and their students are not so much taught, as “engaged and inspired”. Balancing “theory and practice” and recognizing their combination makes them both stronger, their students are encouraged to “think and do” boldly in the “unknown and unexplored” areas of their studies. Inspiring visions from an educational institution thought leader in a recent Guardian article celebrating 150 years of maverick genius.

With a tight focus on interactive “design and development”we welcome the “mavericks of interaction” looking to boldly “think and do” engaging inspirational work and communication on “web and mobile” platforms.

Chris Wenger – Word

The last 20 months have been filled with some success and some failures, all valuable lessons learned for the future ahead. My time in the Interactive Design Program was an awesome experience, and through all the various subjects and topics I learned during the program, the friends and relationships that were formed was the greatest part.

I am now left with perspective of where I am now and where I want to be, and how I am going to get there. My Internship at a social gaming company has exposed me to some interesting career paths, and I am eager to begin my journey. I feel blessed to be pursuing a career that is line with my dreams!

I wish everyone in INTE the best of luck.
