Photography Final Results
I had alot of fun playing with the program’s cameras over the past couple of months and look forward to integrating more of my own photography into my design work.
I ended up doing a ton of night shooting because I wanted to understand how to achieve crisp results in really low light conditions.
East Side Games Company Profile
For my final video project, I worked with East Side Games, Vancouver’s largest social gaming studio, to develop a 3-minute company profile. The goal was to develop a concept that could easily be applied to videos featuring other companies, and having completed this first project, I’m looking forward to applying the skills I’ve developed in future projects.
The video was shot on a Canon EOS Rebel T3i in 1080p HD at 24 frames per second, and all shots were done with the use of a hand-held manual camera stabilizer, which gave an interesting floating effect to the shots. I asked the interview subjects questions off-camera and edited the video so my audio was left out, allowing the interview subjects to tell the story to the viewer themselves without making the video feel like a forced interview. I’m thrilled with how the final product has turned out, and I hope to find more companies to work with in the not-too-distant future to produce additional projects.
Huge thanks to former Interactive Design student Logan Rudrum, who was with me every step of the way throughout filming and introductory editing, as well as Tayber Voyer, Josh Nilson, and Alon Mizrahi for participating in the interviews and opening their office to us.
Gastown Photography
During my recent video shoot with East Side Games, I took a number of photos in between shoots outside the company’s Gastown office. As I went through the neighbourhood, I found several fantastic locations to film and incorporate into my final video project, but these spots also made for some really interesting photos. I filmed the video project on a Canon Rebel T3i, a digital SLR that can shoot both photos and video. This gave me a great deal of flexibility to easily shoot photos without having to switch to another camera to set up a shot when needed.
Final Photography Project
For my photography project i took the approach of doing marco photography in mix with one of my favourite hobbies, origami.
Lonsdale Quay Photography
Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to experiment with many different photography techniques. During a recent trip to Lonsdale Quay, I got a number of shots from the pier, including this shot of the famous ‘Q’ sign.
Video Project Completed
Here is my final video project. Been having some troubles with YouTube so i decided to use another video site, DailyMotion.
